Air Fryer Blackened Mahi Mahi brings a restaurant-quality seafood dish to your dining table in about 20 minutes! Our Blackened Mahi Mahi recipe uses a blend of bold Cajun spices to perfectly complement the mild flavor of this white fish, creating a quick and easy dinner option.
John and I keep finding different ways to use the air fryer. If it’s not potatoes, then it’s salmon or fish sticks.
A while back I made mahi mahi in the air fryer, and it’s become one of our favorite fish recipes. Since then, I decided to start using the air fryer for my blackened mahi mahi.
Just like regular mahi mahi, this blackened mahi mahi turned out great. John and I love making this dish because we get to mix our own blackened seasoning, and add as much or as little as we like.
You can serve this blackened fish in so many different ways. If you’re in the mood for a hearty meal, mix it in with some yellow rice or pasta.
Want something on the lighter side? Pair it with a fresh salad.
If you’re looking for an extra kick, add a squeeze of lime juice on top, or if you want a simple, classic meal, serve it with some roasted veggies and mashed potatoes.
Kim’s Tips
Tips
Here are some quick tips to ensure that your Air Fryer Blackened Mahi Mahi turns out perfect every time:
- Choosing the fish: Look for fillets that are even in thickness. This allows for even cooking.
- Applying the seasoning: Don’t be shy when applying the blackening seasoning. You want a good coating on all sides of the fish to get that perfect blackened crust. However, do remember that the seasoning can be spicy for some, so adjust according to your heat preferences.
- Serving: This mahi mahi is best served immediately. Enjoy it with a squeeze of fresh lemon or a side of remoulade sauce for an extra flavor kick.
Storing Leftovers
Refrigerator: Place the leftover fish in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in aluminum foil or plastic wrap. It will keep for up to 3 days.
