Tartar Sauce Recipe with Relish

Ingredients

  • ½ cup dill relish
  • 1 cup mayonnaise not Miracle Whip
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar or more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Place a mesh sieve over a bowl, and drain the excess liquid from the relish into the bowl. Save the liquid.
    ½ cup dill relish
  • In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients including the drained relish. If the tartar sauce is too thick, stir in a teaspoon or two of the reserved liquid until it reaches your desired consistency.
    1 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon fresh dill, 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 teaspoon horseradish, 1 teaspoon granulated sugar, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Use immediately, or refrigerate until ready to use.

How to Store Leftovers

  • Place any leftover sauce in an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to 10 days.
