Preheat the oven to 350°F (or according to the package of brownie mix), and grease the desired pan size. We used a 9x13-inch baking pan.
Using a large bowl and electric mixer, combine the brownie mix, oil, eggs, and water until combined.
16.3 ounce box brownie mix, ½ cup vegetable oil, 2 large eggs, 2 tablespoons water
Transfer to the prepared baking pan, and bake per the instructions on the box of mix. Ours was for 19-22 minutes for a 9x13-inch pan. Make sure not to over bake! The brownie edges should still be soft. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when finished.
Allow the brownies to cool until warm to the touch. Use your hands or a food processor to break the brownies into crumbs. Then incorporate the cream cheese until well mixed. The mixture will be cohesive but oily.
8 ounces block-style cream cheese
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and divide the brownie mixture into 1 tablespoon sized portions. Using your hands, roll the portions into balls. Place the brownie balls onto the baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour.
